Plus, it’s super easy to make, even if you’re short on time during Ramadan!
Which ingredient substitutes make it a halal chicken fajita pizza recipe?
To keep this recipe halal, I use halal-certified chicken breasts and halal cheese (some cheeses contain animal rennet, so check the labels). Instead of wine-based vinegar in fajita seasoning, I opt for lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Also, store-bought pizza dough is fine, but ensure it’s free from lard or alcohol-based preservatives.
Ingredients

For the Chicken Fajita Topping:
2 boneless halal chicken breasts, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp fajita seasoning (or mix of cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
For the Pizza:
1 pizza dough (you can see my homemade pizza dough recipe here)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups halal mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup halal cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for spice lovers)
Equipment Required
Baking sheet or pizza stone (for enhancing its crispy crust)
Instructions for trying out halal chicken fajita pizza recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Fajita Topping

Take a skillet and heat olive oil in it over medium heat. Add the halal chicken slices and sprinkle the fajita seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 5-6 minutes until the chicken is golden brown. Add lemon juice, bell peppers, and onions. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the veggies are slightly tender but still crisp. Set aside. (Pro tip: Don’t overcook the veggies—they should still have a little crunch!)
Step 2: Prepare the Pizza Dough

Roll the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface. Now, place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza

Pour the pizza sauce into the dough and spread it in a way that it covers it (you can leave the edges). Sprinkle a mix of halal mozzarella cheese and halal cheddar cheese. Evenly distribute the chicken fajita topping over the cheese. For extra spice, sprinkle some red chili flakes.
Step 4: Bake the Pizza

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Keep an eye on it—every oven varies slightly! (If you love an extra crispy crust, bake for another 2 minutes.)
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
Remove the baked pizza from your oven. Let it be there so it can cool a bit before slicing. Sprinkle with oregano for extra flavor. Serve hot with garlic sauce, ranch dressing, or a side of salad. It’s a perfect easy halal dinner recipe for Ramadan.
Pro Tip
If you’re meal prepping for Ramadan, you can marinate the chicken a day in advance and store it in the fridge. This saves time and enhances its flavor. Also, using a pizza stone gives you that perfect crispy crust—just make sure to preheat it before placing the pizza!
